Our founding partner was Luther M. Lee (1923-1996), who attended the University of South Carolina after serving in the United States Army during World War II. Upon admission to the South Carolina Bar in 1951, Mr. Lee went to work for Gary Paschal. Mr. Paschal’s colorful career included serving as Mayor Pro Tem of Columbia and as a freedom fighter in South America. Mr. Paschal’s primary focus was on criminal defense and Mr. Lee developed thepersonal injury side of the practice, in addition to handling criminal and domestic matters.
Sherod Eadon joined the firm as an attorney in 1981, after having previously worked under Mr. Lee as a law clerk in the 1970’s. Mr. Eadon continued to build the firm’s growing personal injury practice which included workers’ compensation claims, auto and trucking accidents, and medical malpractice claims.
In 1983, Chris Isgett was hired to help with the growing practice. Mr. Isgett previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable E.C. Burnett. Mr. Isgett handled criminal, family and civil cases in his early career. He continues to primarily focus on workers’ compensation and auto and trucking accidents.
Gary Popwell began his legal career as a law clerk with the firm. He worked as an associate before joining the firm as a partner in 1990. Mr. Popwell focuses on civil trial work including auto and trucking accidents, medical malpractice, products liability, and workers’ compensation.
Brett Owens was also a law clerk with the firm and now is a partner who handles civil work and social security disability.
The firm continues the tradition started by Luther Lee of representing injured plaintiffs. Attorneys Lee Eadon Isgett Popwell & Owens represent clients who have been injured in auto and trucking accidents, workers’ compensation accidents, medical errors, and defective products. We also are here to help clients receive social security disability.
